Advancement Director Position:
Yspaniola is a Dominican-American education nonprofit building a model of high quality education programs in Batey Libertad from pre-kindergarten through university. After creating successful programs in Batey Libertad, we will replicate our model in other bateys and marginalized communities in the Dominican Republic so the graduates of our programs can advocate for themselves and their communities.

Yspaniola is seeking a Director of Advancement with strong leadership and management skills to direct and lead staff to manage, plan, and implement outreach and fundraising to achieve the organization’s goals in Batey Libertad and the Dominican Republic.

Responsibilities:
- Execute Yspaniola's annual fundraising plan
- Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations
- Oversee the management of Yspaniola’s donor database
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
- Manage the donor acknowledgment process
- Write and track grant applications, reports, and deadlines
- Oversee corporate research, outreach and communications to secure support
- Oversee foundation research, outreach and communications to secure support
- Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
- Oversee research, outreach, and communications with potential service-learning partners
- Oversee and develop Yspaniola’s media, including print media, social media, and the annual report
- Attend conferences related to Yspaniola’s work

Qualifications
- Three years development experience, including experience managing staff
- Excellent communication skills in English; fluent spoken and written Spanish
- Knowledge of database management
- Excellent professional and personal references
- Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal skills
- Belief in the use of data to evaluate programs and their impact
- Demonstrated ability to market a product/service, develop relationships with prospective and current stakeholders, and build strategic partnerships with other organizations
- Adaptable, flexible, and strategic
- Experience in the educational non-profit sector preferred

A successful candidate must be willing to sign at least a two-year contract, and be able to live 8 months a year in the Dominican Republic. Target start date is September 1st, 2017.

- Competitive salary within the non-profit industry on Hispaniola, based on qualifications
